Community Development Requires to Engage Women’s Health Improvement

Though the government and NGOs or private sectors are working basically focused on Gender mainstreaming to aim at community sustainable development but they should emphasize on a healthcare sector as well in the project implementation plan. Health for women is very important due to they also work as well as the men do, the main issues related to the women’s health is reproductive health.

Therefore the government should pay high attention on this concern. Some articles of the national constitutions also stipulate that the government has to set up the infirmaries and maternity centers available to the rural community…the government must take care of children and mothers. The state must design to have nurseries and support for those needless women who have got many children in the family burden. The labor law also stated that the women would receive maternity leave and abortion action in order to protect the benefits of people and women basically. Yet the government has been enhancing the implementation of its action plan in favor of the Millennium Development Goal 5 which underscores the mother health improvement and Millennium Development Goal 6 which combats AIDS, malaria and other diseases on which aim at reducing a rate of those infectious diseases.

Despite they noticed the women still seriously face the health issues and the understanding of community women is limited, for example the women have high prevalence of receiving the venereal diseases infection more than men. The mother mortality rate is still worrisome and being alarming.

The government should allocates a budget enough to sponsor the women’s health service and amount of nurses and medical equipment must be available to the rural community areas too.

In conclusion
, in order to build development of the society or community we should have more specific and efficient approach to cope with the challenges of women’s health. The government has to increase more national budget for project implementation focused on health, basically promoting of women’s health service by establishing medical nursing centers, there are enough nurses and midwives within better service. The government, NGOs or civil society or private sectors have to raise awareness to citizens on how to take care of health. There should have a program to motivate the women to participate with planning for enhancement of healthcare project.

As long as the women have good health so they must be very active to get involved in the economic and social development process by producing high productivity for their national prosperity because they are the backbone for the national development.

More young people or adults start to have the problem of health amid the health system is still poor yet. Mostly community people feel less care of their health examination unless they get sick then they would go to see the nurse or doctors for a checkup. It means that they go to see the health professionals unless they get sickness only.

Health issue is very crucial and it is more likely a quiet war to attack all people and family, for example, the latent sickness on which weakens our functioning physiques gradually.

Whenever the people get the age of over 40 they mostly always get some kinds of sickness. And we could not assume that the normal appearances of persons do not exist any kind of sickness unless while they go see the doctors for medical checkup. It is generally for many people have to check health frequently so that they are able to prevent illness and get some bits of doctor’s advice. Most of some persons never get medical checkups throughout their lives except they get a serious illness. In developed countries, people always go to see the physician for medical checkups even they are looked having good health or not getting the sickness. It is very important for us to have medical checkups so that we can realize the syndrome or any vital signs to prevent illness ahead.

However, the majority of community people rarely care of this medical checkup. They only go to meet the doctors or health professionals in case of, whenever they get sick and some are just taking medicines themselves at homes without any medical descriptions while they are not staying in a serious case.

Those are the sad things and marred patients going to see the physician or they do not even have the ability to pay for treatment fees at all.

Despite the health centers or hospitals were developed at target areas to be available for people to get access of health services, they have to improve and sophisticate the quality of health working to meet the need of community people. Understanding of the Cambodian Community Marriage

Marriage is a critical thing that is meaningful and happens to all people once a time throughout their lives. Then, they have to deeply think about it before they start getting involved in possible marriage. We are not sure about the figure of the age for those who are married; there are many individuals both young and old persons who get married in Cambodia.

Community tradition and custom had cherished the values of marriage for all persons. For those couples who did not pass through the marriage would be facing criticism and the children of them who are named as a bastard (a non-marital child). The others would not like to have a relationship for engagement or marry him/her (bastard) because they do not want to disgrace the family tree.

Based on the understanding of this value of tradition and custom including family fame, the parents always mentor their children to follow the custom trace by spending money to fill duty (in reaching to marriage absolutely.) And they prevent the fame of family tree and custom as well strictly, basically to prevent a scandal tarnishing.

The marriage held in the rural community not only according to the tradition/ custom but also is registered as a legal certificate. Linkage of a traditional wedding without being registered a certificate, it means that even the couples live together in the society and were recognized as a spouse, however referring to the law describes that this spouse is living and was not married. Such marriage may have complex issues should there has a divorce and/ or the wife/husband betrays to have another spouse. That is why the parents and elders appeal to a spouse to go for legal registration.

Presently, there are few spouses whose marriage stemmed from the matchmakers. Instead, at least they have known each other several years before they are able to reach marriage. It looks different from the past that the matchmakers or the elders always let or encourage their children to get married even they are just only 16 or 17. But today, they must be over 20 or 30 to get married because some of them are learning, earning money to save for a wedding and others are busy with jobs.

Of course, in order to start marrying it requires spending much money based on the location and other specific status based upon either remote community areas or towns. Besides, there are many entertainment places so they forget to think about marriage; it means that they do not want to have strings.
